Sealed bids for EAST DEERING SHORELINE IMPROVEMENTS for the Department of Public Works shall be submitted electronically to bidsubmit@portlandmaine.gov with the name of the Bidder, Contract Name and Bid number in the subject line will be received until 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at which time they will be opened and read. Proposals may also be submitted via USPS, UPS, FedEx or in person to the City of Portland, Purchasing Rm. 103, 389 Congress St., Portland ME 04101. It is the bidder’s sole responsibility to ensure that their bid is submitted prior to the date and time specified. Late, unsigned bids, or bids submitted via fax shall not be accepted.

PROJECT LOCATION: Kendall Street, Berwick Street

PROJECT BUDGET: $300,000.00

OUTLINE OF WORK: The work may include but is not limited to the following:

  1. Embankment Repair: Furnishing and installing geotextiles, graded stone riprap layers (toe stone, armor stone, and bedding stone), and coir log stabilization systems to repair and protect the shoreline embankment along Kendall Street and Berwick Street.
  2. Kendall Street Stairs - replacement of existing stairs with granite or wood staircase. Contractor must submit shop drawings to the City of Portland and the Designer-ofRecord for approval.
