The City of Helena invites artists to submit original mural designs for the recycle bin located on Cruse Ave.

ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to artists of all ages. Teams are eligible to apply. Respondents must reside in the Helena area. An artist or team may submit more than one design but must be through separate individual submissions.

COMPENSATION
Selected Artists and/or Teams will be paid Twelve Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00). The artist must supply their own paint and supplies to prime, paint, and seal one recycle bin.

ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE
Call for Artists: Open through January 11, 2027

Submission deadline: January 12, 2027 at 9:00 AM MST

HPAC review/recommendations: January 20, 2027

Commission approval of artwork & artist (if applicable): February 2027

Artists’ agreement engagement: February 2027

Painting: Spring 2027
The City reserves the right to modify this schedule as necessary.

Applications must be received no later than 9am MST January 12, 2027.
If there is not a successful applicant, the application period may be extended.
