Dane County is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the Dane County Regional Airport East Parking Ramp Immediate Repairs , located at 4000 International Ln, Madison, WI 53704 . The project includes targeted structural and maintenance repairs to the East Parking Ramp on the 2nd Level Ceiling/3rd Floor Deck, including concrete repairs, removal of loose concrete, joint and sealant repairs, localized traffic-coating repairs, application of penetrating concrete sealer, pavement-marking replacement, structural steel connection repairs, limited drainage repairs, and related temporary protection, access, cleanup, and restoration work. Background
The Dane County Regional Airport parking facilities include an East Parking Ramp that was originally constructed in 1993, with an additional level completed in 1995. The structure has been evaluated periodically as part of the County’s ongoing parking-facility maintenance and capital-improvement program.
A recent structural assessment identified localized concrete deterioration, delamination's, failed or deteriorated joint sealants, worn protective systems, isolated structural connection concerns, and other conditions requiring timely repair. The Immediate Repairs Project is intended to address the highest-priority maintenance and safety items identified during those evaluations while reducing continued exposure of the structure to water and deicing salts.
This project is part of Dane County’s ongoing effort to maintain safe, functional, and durable public infrastructure. The proposed work is intended to reduce the risk of further deterioration, preserve the structural system, and improve waterproofing performance. The remaining levels of the East Parking Ramp will be addressed in future construction project in 2027, 2028, and 2029.
Key considerations include maintaining airport and parking operations, working within phased and limited-access areas, coordinating closures and traffic routing, protecting parked vehicles and the public, controlling dust and debris, managing limited staging space, and completing temperature-sensitive repair and coating work within the specified construction window.
Bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting, carefully review existing site conditions, verify access and staging constraints, and become familiar with the phasing, temporary protection, material-curing, and operational requirements included in the Contract Documents.
