ANDERSON COUNTY BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT NO. 2 C-5327-01

Sealed proposals submitted in an envelope plainly marked “Project No. 2 C-5327-01 Proposal” will be received at the office of the County Shop, 823 W. 7th Ave., Garnett, Kansas, until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29th, 2026. At 9:00 a.m. on June 1st, 2026, the proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud in the County Commissioners Office:

The Project consists of the replacement of Anderson County Bridge Number P.8-21.2, located 0.2 Miles North of Nevada-2100 Intersection, KS on Nevada Road. The proposed bridge is a 50’ WBMS Bridge with 24’-0” Roadway.

All equipment, materials and workmanship must be in accordance with the Standard Specifications for State Road and Bridge Construction of the Kansas Department of Transportation, 2015 Edition, with all Supplemental Specifications and the Special Provisions that include applicable local construction standards and procedures as provided with the contract documents.

Copies of the contract documents will be on file at the Anderson County Shop, 823 W. 7th Ave., Garnett, Kansas and in the office of Schwab Eaton, 5410 Ledge Stone Drive, Manhattan, Kansas 66503. Three additional sets of documents (except Standard Specs., 2015 Ed.) will be furnished to the successful bidder.

All bidders must be prequalified with the Kansas Department of Transportation for the type and amount of work covered under this contract.

A bid deposit in the form of certified check on a solvent Kansas bank or a satisfactory bid bond in an amount equal to five percent of the total bid price must accompany the bid.

Bidders shall direct all questions concerning the plans and contract documents to Schwab Eaton.

Bidders will be required to furnish their proposed start date in the Proposal to begin construction.

The Notice to Proceed will be issued with an early start date of August 10, 2026, and a late start date of February 15, 2027. There is a total of 120 calendar working days for the project.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 30 days after the date of the opening of bids.

The bidder to whom a contract is awarded will be required to furnish performance and statutory bonds acceptable to Anderson County, each in the amount of the total contract price in conformity with the requirements of the contract documents.

The right is reserved by the County to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality therein, to determine which is the lowest responsible bid most suitable to the County and to approve the bonds.
