1. CITY OF HIAWATHA PROJECT: 1ST St./US-73 & Oregon St. Traffic Signal Project
2. BIDS RECEIVED UNTIL: 2:00 P.M., Local Time, May 20, 2026. Bid will be received at City of Hiawatha, 701 Oregon St., Hiawatha, KS 66434.
3. DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR UNITS OF WORK:
The project will remove the existing traffic signals and poles and construct a new traffic signal system and crosswalks at 1st St. & Oregon St.
4. DESIGN ENGINEER: SBB Engineering LLC, 101 S. Kansas Avenue, Topeka, KS, 66603
5. BID DOCUMENTS: Construction Documents can be purchased for a Non-Refundable fee on-line at planroom.drexeltech.com in their online plan room, additional assistance is available at distribution@drexeltech.com . Information regarding this project can be found in the “Public Jobs” link on the website. Contractors desiring the Contract Documents for use in preparing bids may also obtain a set of such documents from Drexel Technologies; 10840 West 86th Street, Lenexa, KS 66214, telephone number is 913-371-4430. Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc.
6. BID SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: All bids must be accompanied by a cashier's check or a bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid (including alternates), made payable to the City of Hiawatha, Kansas. The original bid security shall be provided to the City of Hiawatha before the 2:00 closing date.
7. PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A pre-bid conference will be held at N/A. Representatives of the Design Engineer and Owner will be present to answer questions. Attendance is N/A (mandatory or optional). If indicated as optional, attendance is highly encouraged for bidders to attend in order to understand the expectations and details involved in the project and contract.
