Bastrop County is requesting bids for a drainage improvement project on Kaanapali Lane over Copperas Creek within the 300 Block of Kaanapali Lane (30°05'18.7"N - 97°16'38.9"W). This project area provides critical habitat for the federally endangered Houston Toad. Bastrop County will provide and deploy a permitted Houston Toad monitor for the duration of construction activities, and all contracted personnel will be trained by a Houston Toad Biologist prior to commencing work. All avoidance and minimization measures are listed in the “Biological Resource Notes” in the General Notes page 2 of the plans and specifications. The submitted bid price should be based on the installation of erosion control measures, implementation of traffic control, demolition of the two (2) existing 60” corrugated metal pipe culverts and roadway, grading, construction of four 10’ x 5’ Rigid Concrete Box culverts with 9ft wingwalls and pavement repair, and stabilization of the project site. Contractor shall maintain one lane of traffic through the project limits at all times during Phase 1 and Phase 2 construction using flaggers, traffic control devices, and temporary pavement as shown in the Traffic Control Plans.
