The Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans intends to hold its biennial Leadership Awards Dinner at the Mystic Lake Event Center on October 3, 2026. The venue is located within the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area and offers the capacity and amenities necessary to support a large-scale statewide event. The event center accommodates 900 attendees within one primary event space with the requested banquet-style seating accommodations, and provides complimentary parking for all attendees. In addition, the venue offers on-site catering services that include a reception service and a three-course plated dinner, as well as comprehensive audio-visual services to support program presentations, performances, and award recognition activities.

Comparable venues within the metropolitan area either did not have sufficient capacity to accommodate the anticipated attendance within one event space, lacked adequate free parking accommodations for attendees, required the use of multiple outside vendors for catering and audio-visual services, or could not provide all required event services within the event timeline. Utilizing a venue that does not provide a single event space, catering, parking, and audio-visual services would impact administrative coordination, vendor management, and overall event costs. Mystic Lake Center was identified as the only venue that met all operational requirements, attendee capacity needs, accessibility considerations, and full-service event support requirements in a single location for the specified event date.

If there are any concerns regarding this single source opportunity, contact Molly Gunderson at Molly.Gunderson@state.mn.us before June 3, 2026, 2:00 P.M. Central Time. Include the reference number and title of the posting in the subject line. Or you may call the HelpLine at 651.296.2600 (MN Relay Services for persons with speech or hearing disabilities: 711 or 1.800.627.3529).
