The Department of Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), partnering with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), intends to renew an agreement with Trace First, Inc., for access to its CoreOne System, for up to twenty-four months. Under Minn. Stat. § 35.155, subd. 14, the BAH and the DNR have the concurrent authority to regulate farmed white-tailed deer. The DNR and BAH determined that the CoreOne system is the only system that will meet the business needs of both agencies. Since the BAH currently uses the CoreOne system to manage all other species, Trace First, Inc., created a shared instance of the CoreOne system that allows both the DNR and the BAH to manage and access the shared data related to farmed white-tailed deer. This will allow both agencies to have access to the data that is necessary to carry out its concurrent responsibility of regulating farmed white-tailed deer, while limiting access to the data that the BAH needs to manage other species to the BAH only.

Trace First, Inc. retains exclusive ownership, copyrights, trademark of their proprietary Core One software, maintenance, and support services. The State believes these services are not available through third-party entities deeming this a sole source purchase.
