The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (“District”) is seeking professional engineering services to design and develop plans and technical specifications for the rehabilitation and upgrade of Lift Station #60 (LS-60) located on the western side of Disney's Animal Kingdom adjacent to a stormwater pond.
The general scope includes addition of a permanent, independently powered surface-mounted backup pump capable of pumping full design flow, removal of the existing backup generator, along with full rehabilitation to all electrical and mechanical components. Including, but not limited to:
A. Preliminary engineering report, comprehensive design, permitting, and construction services.
B. Design a bypass pumping system to maintain continuous station operations during rehabilitation activities.
C. Assess and replace electrical control panel with alternative for adding conditioned electrical structure onsite.
D. Assess the need and placement of conditioning pumps (including but not limited to grinder/chopper, flush pumps, etc.) one for each of the two cells, and a mixer pump in the common influent channel.
E. Assess condition of influent gravity main (30”) and provide recommendation if lining is needed.
F. Install pump soft starters.
G. Install fall protection devices.
H. Install new diesel-powered emergency pump, controls, and piping and the removal of existing generator and controls.
I. Provide condition assessment and recommended repair and replacements for the above-ground crane system existing onsite.
J. Provide condition and performance assessment of all four (4) pumps.
a. Analyze current performance and runtimes versus original design points.
b. Provide recommendations for purchasing replacements or stock spares.
K. Replace lift station risers and bases.
L. Recoat wet well (two compartments totaling 21’) and upstream manhole.
M. Replace inoperable wet well isolation gates to restore intended use.
N. Replace existing isolation valves and discharge piping with an above-grade assembly to eliminate confined space entry requirements in the vault.
O. Replace various controls and appurtenances including floats, flow meter, wet well liquid level measurement device, air release valves, etc.
P. Replace and/or modify the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) equipment.
Q. SCADA and controls coding shall support 24/7 monitoring of station operations, with real-time data communicated to the RCES control room using existing onsite radio and fiber systems.
