This is a Sources Sought Notice for market research purposes only. It is not a solicitation and does not obligate the Government to award a contract.
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Providence Healthcare System, is seeking to identify qualified small business sources capable of providing licensed clinical therapy services in support of a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial of MDMA-assisted therapy in military Veterans with co-occurring Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Alcohol Use Disorder (PTSD-AUD).
The anticipated requirement is a non-personal services, Labor Hour IDIQ contract with a 12-month base period and four 12-month option years. Performance will be on-site at VA Providence Healthcare System, 830 Chalkstone Ave, Providence, RI 02908; this is not a remote position.
Contractors would serve as co-therapists on MDMA-assisted therapy dyads, providing approximately 64.5 hours of therapy per participant, including preparatory psychotherapy sessions, 8-hour experimental medication sessions, integration sessions, consultation/supervision, and required clinical documentation, in accordance with the approved study protocol and applicable VA, FDA, and Human Subjects Research requirements.
Interested sources should possess current independent clinical licensure (LMFT, LICSW, LMHC, Psychologist, or equivalent), formal training in MDMA-assisted therapy through a MAPS-recognized or equivalent program, and experience treating trauma and co-occurring substance use disorders in Veteran populations.
Interested parties should submit a capability statement of no more than 2 pages addressing company information, relevant experience, personnel qualifications, organizational capacity, contract vehicle experience, and teaming/subcontracting intentions, no later than August 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST, to Lauren Reed-Smart at lauren.reed-smart@va.gov.
