while the used pallet market became much more competitive, southwest forest products developed a market niche by building new pallets to their customers' specifications. to combat the rising lumber market fluctuations, steve researched the logging industry. he developed a use for logs sized too small to be utilized by the lumber mills, located sources, and in may 1998 installed a saw mill.
